The Black Crowes rolled into Massey Hall on Saturday night as part of their Euphoria or Bust Tour.
The reviews of the show have been pouring in. Texts, emails, chats with friends and colleagues have all alluded to the fact that while it is cool to go see the Black Crowes live , it’s a fairly ordinary show.

This track from Brendan Canning ‘Hit The Wall‘ was the first single from Canning’s solo album titled Something For All Of Us. The album was released on May 5, 2008 and was available as a free download on the Arts & Crafts website.
The song is a smooth yet funky track with Canning’s power-pop trait rocking through. With the first real days of summer coming around the corner, this is a patio track. Enjoy.

Friday July 4th @ 8pm Arizona’s Jimmy Eat World will play Toronto’s Sound Academy. Jimmy Eat World are no strangers to Toronto having toured here almost a dozen times.
From their 1994 self titled debut, through (my favorite) Clarity, to their latest offering 2007’s Chase The Light, Jimmy Eat World have grown from a stumble upon band to a mainstream favorite.

There have been words exchanged…it’s a healthy little battle.
The feud between Woodhands and Danko Jones began during Canadian Music Week back in March.   The so called spark was Jones saying (in a round about way) that Woodhands popularity is through a journalistic fad – with 12 piece bands and 2 piece electro acts being the current focus – and Woodhands is simply benefiting from the fad.
Woodhand’s reply, “Danko, why you gotta hate on us? Why you gotta hate on us? Danko Jones, where’s the love?“

In an overall slumping time for record sales, Coldplay has shown that it can still be done – you just need to be a global musical power.

Pre-prepped journalism…sometimes will bite you in the ass.  I was pretty pumped for the Peter Hook show, so I decided to throw two posts yesterday on the blog.  I posted them late Monday night to run Tuesday, because I knew I would be away from my computer for most of the day.  i was in the car listening to The Edge when I heard Bookie say, “it’s official, the Peter Hook show has been canceled”

It somewhat of Peter Hook/Joy Division week in Toronto this week with Hook playing The Sound Academy on Friday (the 27th).
