Edgefest Highlights | Stone Temple Pilots | Sam Roberts | The Bravery

After a one year hiatus, Edgefest returned to the Toronto summer calendar with a very impressive showing.
Highlights included the return of the Stone Temple Pilots, an energetic set by Sam Roberts and a killer performance through a massive downpour by The Bravery.
In my opinion…the more big acts coming to Toronto the better – so welcome back Edgefest and kudos on a strong lineup.

HMV To Sell More Than Music

HMV To Sell More Than Music

The movement of online record sales has taken traditional retailers back to the drawing board in trying to figure out how to increase traffic and sales in stores.
HMV – Canada’s largest retailer – is introducing a range of new “entertainment” products that moves away from its traditional focus on music. Throughout HMV’s new ‘reinvented’ stores one will notice the new additions of books, cellphones, iPods and MP3 players.
Toronto’s Bloor Street West HMV store launched their new look store yesterday with live tunes from Sam Roberts and Billy Bragg.

It was a loose, drunken jam session that included some cool cover tracks: The Beatles Yesterday, The Kinks Come Dancing (Sam Roberts), The Specials Pressure Drop, The Clash Should I Stay Or Should I Go, and and The English Beat’s Mirror In The …read more

Start off your week with music. Here are two random Monday tracks that we think they are worthy of any iPod. Cheers.
This is a great track from Sam Robert’s Chemical City album. The band is scheduled to release Love at the End of the World…shortly. This is sure to be another solid album because this band just keeps moving themselves closer to legendary status with every release – their collection is incredible.
Sam Roberts will be in Toronto at Edgefest on July 12.
Love this tune.
