Check out: The Junction
Historically, the Junction is a neighbourhood in Toronto that derives its name from a junction of four railway lines in the area known as the West Toronto Diamond. The centre of the area is Dundas Street West and Keele Streets. This Junction eventually became know as the City of Toronto.
Locally, The Junction is a band you should check out. Start listening to them to become familiar before their gig on Feb 2 at the Shoe. Their song Components of Four may have made to your speakers as it got some decent rotations on various broadcasts and podcasts.
Here’s the skinny…The Junction formed in the suburban community of Brampton, Ont. in 1996. Taking it from the basement Brent and Mike jammed the styles of acid jazz, bossa nova and rock and roll to create their sound. After jamming with a variety of players Matt joined in 2000. Three E.P.’s one full length and several Canadian tours later…
Check out their latest album, “cohesive yet proudly all over the place”. Catchy melodies buried beneath modern rock riffs, acid jazz and a bit of Madchester delivers a winning sound from the Junction.

Feb 02 Toronto, ON The Horseshoe Tavern w/Five Blank Pages - Chelen & Rajiv’s last show, vulcan dub squad, and the ghost is dancing. 19+
