The Fringe is Toronto ’s largest theatre festival.
In 2008 Toronto’s Fringe Festival will host over 800 artists from Ontario, Canada and around the world, with over 135 unique productions in more than 25 venues.
Productions range from dramas to musical extravaganzas to improv and take place in local theatres as well as in unusual spots: playgrounds, parking lots and more. The festival also hosts a beer tent, two outdoor patios and a free nightly Cabaret.

Download This Track | Brendan Canning

This track from Brendan Canning ‘Hit The Wall‘ was the first single from Canning’s solo album titled Something For All Of Us. The album was released on May 5, 2008 and was available as a free download on the Arts & Crafts website.

If you’re a fan of the band, this should be a solid show as they will be trying out some new material as well as falling back on some of their old (but great) stuff. As well, JEW …read more

Woodhands Versus Danko Jones | Exclaim

There have been words exchanged…it’s a healthy little battle.
The feud between Woodhands and Danko Jones began during Canadian Music Week back in March.   The so called spark was Jones saying (in a round about way) that Woodhands popularity is through a journalistic fad – with 12 piece bands and 2 piece electro acts being the current focus – and Woodhands is simply benefiting from the fad.
Woodhand’s reply, “Danko, why you gotta hate on us? Why you gotta hate on us? Danko Jones, where’s the love?“

Although it is an odd layout for your day off, it looks as though it is going to be a solid day – good weather, Tuesday holidays are ‘new and cool’ and patio’s will be primed.
Toronto Unplugged would like to wish everyone a Happy Canada Day.
Make the most of it, be safe and celebrate with friends and music….and cheer on Toronto FC in their match against Vancouver.
Cheers everyone,
Toronto Unplugged
