Countdown to The Verve | One Day

The Verve TorontoThe Verve returned to America for the first time since their split a decade ago to perform at the Coachella Festival in California this past Friday night – and frontman Richard Ashcroft told the faithful the band is back for good.

He explained: “Most bands, when they reform, they don’t bother making any new music. That’s what this band’s all about.”

Ashcroft went on to grumble about the stench of the backstage toilets from the stage, but seemed genuinely glad to be back with his band, concluding the set by saying: “It’s been a great night… I’m off to Vegas after this.”

Then after Vegas, The Verve play Toronto.  The Verve show at the Ricoh is one day away. This might be the most anticipated show of the supposed summer so far.  If you’re going to the gig, tell us the one track you’re dying to hear.  We will be posting all of your post show comments as well…so send em in.

We saw the show tonight at Ricoh… definitely one of my top 3 concerts ever (along with Audioslave at Kool Haus, and Tool at Hummingbird).

This was my first time ever seeing Verve, and I had high expectations, and they more than delivered! My wife is in love with Ashcroft, so she was enjoying herself. We were on the floors about 15-20 feet from the stage… it was inspirational. We hope that we’ll be able to see them perform again.

    Hi T & P,

Glad you enjoyed the show. It doesn’t sound as though I was too far from you both at the show. Yeah, a very good show. I had some issues with some things, but all in all, you can’t go wrong with the Verve.

    Thanks,

    Mike
