Rembering Jeff Healy | A Toronto Legend

Music legend and Toronto folk hero Jeff Healey died Sunday of Cancer – he was 41.

Healey has had a profound effect on our music scene in Toronto and his legend will always live on in CD players, on turn tables in within the walls of the Roadhouse that bears his name.

Healey was likely best known for his 1988 album See The Light which featured Angel Eyes. Jeff Healey entertained audiences with his exceptional and unconventional guitar playing. His guitar mesmerized rock fans, jazz fans and blues fans.

Healey was ready to release his first rock/blues album at the time of his death. The album will be a celebration of an incredible career and will sure to be heard throughout the city in the months and years to come.

During the course of his musical career, he shared the stage with such music titans as Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Harrison and B.B. King.

Toronto Unplugged remembers the legend that is Jeff Healey. We were lucky enough to have Jeff Healey contributing to the world of music for 35 plus years and now a whole new world will be able to enjoy his humour and unparalleled talent.
